    Was or would?

    A guy has crashed his motorcycle...

    Another guy looks at the motorcycle and says...

    A comment:
    "The motorcycle doesn't look like it was damaged badly." or "The motorcycle doesn't look like it would be damaged badly."?

    Which sentences is correct (from the comment)?

    Which do you think makes more sense?
