    to increase 500%

    Hello,

I'd like to say that corn prices did not double, but increased *5. - And I've no idea how to do that: did they increase five times, for five times??

    Could you help me, please?
    Thanks a lot.

    You could say
'Corn prices increased by a factor of five'
    'The price of corn quintupled'

You could also say 'corn prices became five times as much'
