give someone food for thought vs set someone thinking

    Hello again!

It is said that if there are two identical proverbs/phrases, there must be a reason for it.

What is the difference between "give someone food for thought" and "set someone thinking"?

In my opinion, there is no difference at all but I may be mistaken.

    Thank you.

    Who said that?

    You are not mistaken.

If so, under what circumstances should they be used?

    Could you provide any examples?
