    Hi everyone.

    I'm trying to understand what is differences of achieve and get because in my language they have same mean .
    example:

    Next month I'll achieve/get my goals.
    I achieved/got to buy a new car.
    I achieved to accomplish my dream.

    Thanks.

    Re: Achieve or Get

    They rarely mean the same in English.

    Your sentences are incorrect.

    It is possible to say 'I achieved/got a grade A in advanced geography'.

    Re: Achieve or Get

    These words have different meanings in my language (Ukrainian), and I think the difference is the same as in English. If I translate them back to English, I get the following variants:

    Achieve: achieve, reach, acquire, win;

    Get: get, receive.

    Hope this can somehow help you to understand the difference.

    Re: Achieve or Get

    I think Next month I'll achieve my goals is OK. I got to buy a new car could work,but with a different meaning- I had the opportunity/managed to buy one.
