    fingers

    Hi, everyone

Would you please tell me whether "black fingers" means anything special? I know if a person has green fingers, that means he or she is good at making plants grow. How about black fingers? Please help. Thank you.

    Re: fingers

A gardener would have a green thumb.

I'm not sure what a black finger is.

    Re: fingers

I have never heard the term before. Where did you hear it?

Lotus, in BrE, good gardeners have green fingers. The thumb is never mentioned.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: fingers

... an interesting difference between AmE and BrE for this same idiom.

Is it perhaps because Americans are all thumbs?
