    present perfect OR simple past

    I know the difference between simple past and present perfect is whether the time of the action is clear or not. In writing a paper there are some paragraphs. If I want to refer to the previous paragraphs, which tense should be used here?
    Example:
    1. In the previous paragraph, it was shown that ................
    2. In the previous paragraph, it has been shown that ................
