    with her wedding dress on

    Are these sentences correct:

1-He danced with her with her best dress on.

2-He kissed her with her best dress on.

Well, the sentences could mean that he had her best dress on. But could these sentences have the other meaning as well?

    I doubt it...

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

Re: with her wedding dress on

You could rephase the sentence like this:

He danced with her in her best dress.

Re: with her wedding dress on

Ted, that sounds even more like he was wearing her best dress.

Re: with her wedding dress on

He danced with her wearing her best dress.

He danced with her with the latter wearing her best dress.

Re: with her wedding dress on

How did we get from 'wedding dress' to 'best dress'?

Re: with her wedding dress on

Perhaps he was wearing the wedding dress and she was wearing her best dress?

Re: with her wedding dress on

Thank you all very much for your kind replies.

I changed my mind in the middle of the whole thing, but forgot that I had put in 'wedding dress' in the title.

    My apologies.

In my defense I would say that her best dress is her wedding dress! (a bit lame, but I am doing my best...)
