What's the difference between saying: Maybe we could make a trip to Florida next wee

    What's the difference between saying:

Maybe we could make a trip to Florida next week.

    VS

Maybe we can make a trip to Florida next week.

Are both the same? What would a native say?

There is no substantial difference. Native speakers would say either one.

So, why do some say can and others say could?

There's got to be even the smallest difference.

You have been told before that this is sometimes nothing but user's choice. Sometimes "can" and "could" have real differences; at other times not so much.

And you have been told before that non-standard words like 'gotta' are not acceptable on this forum.
