Please clarify the following in red.

TIPS(Treasury Inflation Protected Securities) require a small minimum investment of $100 and are sold in $100 increments with 5-, 10-, and 30-year maturities.

Does this mean "when you buy 5-, 10-, 30-year maturities, you have to pay $200, $300, $400 each?"

Thank you.

Investments are accepted for the amounts of $100, $200, $300, $400...
Investments are accepted for periods of 5, 10 and 30 years. (why the - after the number of years?)

That is perfectly correct but not quite natural.

Investments are accepted only in multiples of $100. For all investments, maturities of five, ten and thirty years are available.

Why the - after the number of years?

This is how we express in a shorter way '5-year, 10-year and 30-year maturities'.

You will also see 'I teach 5- and 6-year old children'.

Yes, you can say "maturity of five years" and you can add "period" if you like.
