Just like the title says, I need a few sentences checked :) I've always been unsure of my past perfect tense skills.
So here we go!
If you had done it before it was too late, it could have been alright.
After she had seen lions, she went to see elephants.
Are these correct?
I kinda have problems recognizing past perfect from past simple.
1, I didn't see it coming before it was too late.
2, I hadn't seen it coming before it was too late.
3, I didn't know it when she asked me.
4, I hadn't known it when she asked me.
I believe that 3, is right and 4 is wrong. Is it true? :)
Your first two are correct except that "alright" is considered nonstandard for "all right".
Please don't use "kinda" on this forum.
Sentence 1 and 2 are OK. Because of the adverb "before" the past perfect is not necessary, but it is correct.
I agree with you about 3 and 4.
