    groupie

Do you have the counterpart for males for "groupie"? I mean, guys chasing after a female singer or celebrity. Maybe not.

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/groupie
It reads 'often a girl', 'especially a young woman' and 'esp. a teenage girl', but it doesn't say that a groupie cannot be a guy.

    Re: groupie

While the term 'groupie' is used generally for women, this is quite a sexist fact. Men can also be groupies, but are more likely to be called 'Male Groupies'.

There is no word specifically for a male groupie in the popular lexicon, to the best of my knowledge that is.

    I hope this helps!

    Re: groupie

Female musicians/rock stars get much, much less of that kind of action for a variety of reasons. There just aren't that many male groupies.

I think it is similar to a 'midwife', who could be a man.
