    desertify

    Hello.
I was reading this a while ago: http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=49139
I thought, "The 'desertification' is a noun. And the verb is ...?" I guessed that it might be 'desertify' and found this: http://www.onelook.com/?w=desertify&ls=a

    Is 'desertify' used commonly?

    Thank you.

    Re: desertify

Neither the noun nor the verb are commonly used.

    I'd never heard either before.

    Re: desertify

Neither have I, but you can figure out what is meant by the endings "-ify" and "-ification"

    Re: desertify

I've heard the noun but not the verb.
