What does this "as well" mean?
1. as well (as the wording targets a select group of people)
2. too(as if I were to sell a product that was made mainly for women but...)
33.Advertisements are made to increase the sales of a given product. Most advertisements target an appropriate group by choosing a logo that appeals to that group. Language plays a very important part in the logo. For example, if I were to sell a product that was made mainly for women but used more male words to describe the product, it would not sell as well as a product that was described with female words. For example, a hand lotion made for women would not use words like “treats rough, hard, and dry skin,” but it would use more flowery words such as “moisturizes and enriches dry skin.” In this way, if the wording doesn’t target a select group of people, the product will not sell as well.
It will not sell as many as it would if the wording did target a select group of people.
If something "sells well", a good/high number of the item are bought. Therefore, something might not sell "as well as you hoped" or "as well as something else on the market".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
