    And selfies strongly suggest that the world we observe through social media is more interesting when people insert themselves into it. Dom Hofmann, one of the founders of Vine, said the first iteration of the application didnít let people shoot videos using the front-facing camera, partly because of technical constraints.

    Can you explain the meaning of "iteration"? I know it means repeat. But it can't work here~

    It does work here. An iteration is a repetition. But in current usage, "the first iteration" just means the first occurrence of a happening that has been iterated or reiterated. Logically it should mean the first repetition, but in actual usage it doesn't. It means the first occurrence,
