    The inspection is under ------

Situation: There is some doubt in the accuracy of an instrument at plant and therefore the supplier have been contacted to arrange a site visit. Their engineer is booked in for tomorrow for inspection and I want to tell it to a third person as below:

The inspection of this instrument is under ------- (what is the suitable word with under ?, it can not be under consideration, progress, process,)
The inspection of this instrument is on call (is this correct ?)

Riquecohen's suggestion is perfect. I can't think of any way of saying what you mean using "under XXX".

Once the inspection has started, you can say "The inspection is underway".

You could say that the inspector is on call, meaning they have to be available if needed and contacted. Your sentence doesn't work for me.

Just like 'emsr2de' suggested the word 'underway', I was thinking of similar word to saying (like under-consideration) that reflects that the inspection has been organised.

"Under consideration" only means that the inspection is being considered. It might not happen. Didn't you rule this out yourself in your first post?

Re: The inspection is under ------

yes, that was ruled out because it has gone beyond consideration and it is being actioned. So, I was thinking if there is any word starting with under----
(at this stage, it can not be under-consideration/process, progress, way)

Re: The inspection is under ------

If it has already been booked and is due to happen on a specific date, I don't think there is a phrase starting with "under" which fits.
