    A correspondent? A penpal?
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Someone with whom you only correspond via friendly, casual letters is a "pen-pal." If the letters you send to this person are always of a business or formal nature, then he would be a correspondent.
