    If that's the case why are you blaming us for this incident? We've sent a number of packages to the UK and this is the first time a tax was imposed on a parcel. We have no control what goes on in the UK, as we are a US company, and have no reason to know other country's tax policies. Does this make sense to you? Perhaps, we can give you a discount on the shipping.

    'Have no reason to know' could be replaced with 'are not in a position to know', to make it sound better.

    Almost.

    It should be "...other countries' tax policies" (the tax policies of other countries), or " ... another country's tax policies" (the tax policies of another country).

    Delete the comma after 'Perhaps'.

    Tell your friend to become a member so that he can ask us directly.
