    reported speech

Which sentence is correct, I mean, more natural to you native speakers? (a) or (b) or (c)?
    Direct speech:
My father said to me, 'You must work hard.'
    Reported speech:
    (a) My father told me that I must work hard.
    (b) My father told me that I had to work hard.
    (c) My father told me to work hard.
    Thank you!

    Re: reported speech

The first is the truest representation of what he said. But the the other two convey the same information.
