    Pinker turns several assumptions upside down: that the sexes are biologically equivalent," that smarts are all it takes to succee"d and that men and women have identical interests and goals.

    Could you explain above quoted sentence in easy way?

    smarts = intelligence. Does that help? (Change "are" to "is" when you read it with "intelligence".)
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
