Have you ever left the cinema in the middle of the film?

Have you ever left the cinema in the middle of the film?
    Yes,i have.
    Why did you leave?
Because i've seen the film more than three times.

Can we answer a question which is in the past simple with an answer in the present perfect?

It would be more natural with "I had".
