    Performin an energy balance

Anyone could please help me with this sentence? I'm in trouble with the underlined part.

The EGH score is calculated by performing an energy balance at the point of measurement installed by the utility, and then comparing this balance with that obtained for a reference building.

    Thanks

    Re: Performin an energy balance

It might help a lot if you could tell us what an EGH score was. That way, we could look it up, and figure out what the underlined part means. As it is, Google is being exceedingly rude by refusing to look it up, simply changing "EGH score" to "high score". Google Search is very useful, but it's becoming just a bit too arrogant lately, and forgetting its place.

PS: This might help: "One measure of efficiency for residential buildings is the EnerGuide for Homes (EGH) rating." I find the original sentence mystifying too.

But I knew what EGH stads for. I can't just figure out that " at the point of". What does it mean in this sentence?

    Re: Performin an energy balance

"At the point of measurement" = where they measure the energy use = the electric meter
