    wrangle up

43)When I arrived at her house, Mrs. Davis was trying to *wrangle up her dogs that had somehow gotten out of the yard. I left the pizzas in the car and ran to assist her with the dogs. She was very grateful and I gave her the pizzas and read out her total of $67. At that point, she reached.

What does "wrangle up" mean here? A dictionary says "argue with someone", but the meaning seems to be "grab and hold up".

    Re: wrangle up

You have to read down to the foourth definition of wrangle to get the author's meaning in this case (to herd and care for animals).

The word "wrangle" can also mean "to herd".
