Post I need help/advice please! Justice or injustice?

I made an english letter writing exam today and I felt so good about it because I thought I might ace it when I was done. My letter had a total of 227 words and the minimum amount was 150, but there was no "maximum amount" anywhere on the exam and neither did the 2 teachers write it out on the blackboard or even mention it.
When I got out of the classroom, a classmate asked me how many words did I have total and I said 227 and she turned and said 200 was the maximum... She said she asked the teacher but why didn't the teacher mention anything to the class? My english teacher said a long time ago that 1 point gets substracted for EVERY word past the maximum amount. I'm freaking out because I really need a good grade (I'm in high school exam class) and the teacher did not mention anything about the max. amount of words allowed, neither did the exam mention it.
Please help me out, if they substract 27 points would it be justice or injustice?

This person who told you the maximum was 200, how did she know?

She asked one of the examiners, but as soon as she did, the examiner should have notified the entire class
It wasn't written in the exam, the examiners didn't mention anything and they didn't write it on the blackboard
    Nada

Then it sounds like you have a legitimate argument.

Awesome. Thanks a lot for clearing that up
I feel a little better, because I worked hard for those points and I really need them

So you were supposed to write a letter in English? (Post it here so I can comment on it. (That's what I get paid to do.))

(Okay, I don't really get paid. That was a joke.)
