    Readers relate to this

    13) In addition, television shows, movies, Broadway musicals, and commercial products have all been made based on the Peanuts characters.
Each of the characters that appeared in the cartoon strip during its fifty-year run had a unique personality, but they all had one thing in common. All of them showed that human beings have at least one difference or one weakness. Readers relate to this because nobody is perfect, and we all have qualities that make us different.

Does "relate to" have the meaning of "be sympathetic with something"?

Yes. Or "understand" or "identify with".

    Re: Readers relate to this

Keannu, the use of so many different colours, bold, and underlining in your post makes it really hard to read and understand. You were only querying "relate to". It would have been sufficient to leave the piece all in black with no bold and no underlining, and then just posted your question after a paragraph break.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: Readers relate to this

When I was busy, I used to do that, feeling readers would find it difficult to recognize. OK, I'll do my best to show you the best appearance from now on!
