Is the following sentence correct according to grammatical rules and meaning?
if yes then how?
I wish I didn't have to work tommorow, but unfortunately I do.
After I wish.. what does rest of sentence mean? Like ... I didn't have to work (past tense) tomorrow (I think it uses future meaning) but unfortunately I do (again it uses present tense).
Actually I need to know meaning of whole sentence.
The sentence means that you do have to work tomorrow, but you would prefer not to.
When talking about something that we want (or don't want) to happen, we use the subjunctive, in which the past tense form of the verb is employed.
