    an everyday reality

Is the article in the phrase in bold necessary?

The environmental awareness of society has become an everyday reality.

    Re: an everyday reality

Could you explain why? I've seen other threads in which there was no artice before reality. I don't understand why it is necessary here, especially why it is the indefinite article that is required here.

Because there's more than one everyday reality. Environmental awareness is one of them. Hence, it's an everyday reality.

    Re: an everyday reality

Is it correct to say 'You should realize the everyday reality that the society has become environmentally aware'?

    Not a teacher.
