    help me!!

    I would like to know if there is any mistake in the following sentence:


    I became really surprised when an email was sent to me asking me to do a test that may allowed me to become a second year student.

    Have another look at the part I have underlined. I prefer "I was really surprised" - "became" is too gradual for surprise.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
