What is the meaning of the word"her" here?

    Dear teacher,
    Here is a sentence:
The princess hated the woman behind that silent door. She hated her with all the intensity of the blood passed to her through long lines of cruel ancestors.
To "her", its meaning is princess herself, or the woman behind that silent door?

If the object was the princess herself, it should be 'She hated herself'.
So I think 'her' refers to the woman.

    Not a teacher.

    ***** NOT A TEACHER *****

I think that your sentence shows us how important pronouns are.

    Nobody wants to write:

"The princess hated the woman behind that silent door. The princess hated the woman behind that silent door with all the intensity of the blood passed to the princess through long lines of cruel ancestors."
