    He is rich(,); but still,

    Hi,

    - He is rich, but still, he is unhappy.
    - He is rich; but still, he is unhappy.

I would like to ask if I must use a semicolon or comma before 'but' in that sentence. I think the first one is OK, but I am not dead sure.

    Thanks.

Re: He is rich(,); but still,

I wouldn't use any punctuation at all there.

He is rich but still he is unhappy.
He is rich but he is still unhappy.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: He is rich(,); but still,

You might use a comma after 'rich'. I can't see any reason for a semicolon.
If you had two sentences not joined with a conjunction (but), you'd need one - "He is rich; still he is unhappy."
