    As well as...

    Hello!

I have doubts about using a phrase in a sentence.

This approach is not new but it works...
    a) as well as never
    b) as well as ever
    c) so well as never
    d) so well as ever

What would be the right option?

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: As well as...

Which one do you think it might be and why?

    Re: As well as...

Personally I think it should be 'as well as never' but not sure

    Is this a homework assignment?

    Re: As well as...

This is the only question from a big test the answer to which I don't know for sure

    Re: As well as...

Are you going to submit your answers to this big test to a teacher for marking? When is it due?

It is a good choice for Russian language; however, I think the right answer is b) as well as ever. Am I right?

    Not a teacher.
Please, show me every single one of my mistakes. Thank you.

I'm not going to tell you if you are right. If you read the rest of the thread, you will see that we are trying to get maria-dremina to explain the purpose of this test.

    Re: As well as...

It is not for a lesson. I do it to improve my language skills and get ready for the exam.

    Re: As well as...

Right, thank you. That was a struggle!

    The correct answer is b)

If we are trying to express the fact that something is as good (but not better than) it has been in the past, we say "as [adjective] as ever".
