in vs on (name of the street)

I would like to help me figure out which one is correct: in (name of the street) street OR on (name of the street) street
    Thank you!

Re: in vs on (name of the street)

In British English, both are used; but "on" is much more common. I think American English uses "on" exclusively, but I stand ready to be corrected..
I'm not a teacher of English, but I have spoken it for (almost) all of my life....

    That would be 'on'.

"The shoe shop is on Republic Street."

    I hope this helps!

The shoe shop is in Republic street would be fine in BrE, so it doesn't only have to be on.

American English uses on. I suppose it depends on who you are speaking to, but if it's an American use on or we may give you a certain look :)

Re: in vs on (name of the street)

BrE uses "in" much more frequently.

I grew up in Mayview Avenue. After that, I lived in Popes Place for twelve years. Now I live in Hythe Road.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
