    No. China is on the Pacific's west coast.

    I don't see any difference between China being on the Pacific's west coast and the Pacific being on China's east coast.

    I always thought of the land as having a coast, while the water just has a shore.

    But we say the Atlantic Coast and the Pacific Coast. It is variable.

    Texas is in the south of the US. (Texas is part of the US.)
    Mexico is to the south of the US. (Mexico is not a part of the US.)

    Those terms refer to the lands in contact with those oceans, not the edges of the oceans.

    I don't see any difference between China being on the Pacific's west coast and the Pacific being on China's east coast.
    There isn't really- it's the same place.

    The WHO office that covers China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, etc, is the Western Pacific regional office. http://www.wpro.who.int/en/
