    Thanks teacher, I'm looking to find a reason for my class. As I read in dictionary one of the uses of 'would' is for past intentions. In this case I think option D could be thought of. I'd be grateful if you told me a reason why not.

    Does your dictionary give an example of 'would' used for past intentions? I can't think of one.

    It is used in the reported speech.
