Every day I read scientific papers abstracts in English language. In order to improve my English writing I copy the text in a Word processor. However, all the time for the above underlined words, the following message is displayed: “Passive voice (consider revising)”. How can I know if I am writing correctly? Many thanks for your help.

Well, the short answer is 'NOT by regarding Word as omniscient' :)

Scientific papers use the passive. They are usually grammatically correct.

Do not use scientific papers as your model for general writing.
