    pitch a deal

What does the following in red mean in the context?

Sandberg often tells the story of being at a private equity office in New York to pitch a deal in a long, three-hour meeting. Two hours in, there was an obligatory break. ..... As Sandberg stood up from the conference table, the partner ... quickly apologized and admitted he didn't know the location of the women's restroom. Aghast, Sandberg asked whether she was the first woman to have pitched him a deal. "Maybe," the partner replied, "or maybe you are the only one who had to go to the bathroom."

    Thank you.
