    Civilians trapped

    Hi guys,

    What does it mean. "We got civilians trapped" captain america says this in Avengers.

    The situations is that there are civilians trapped somewhere.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    This sort of 'got' is a common feature in the vocabulary of the authorities at the scene of an emergency or crime. Scarcely an edition of CSI goes by without someone saying 'I got blood'.
