    She'd probably just compliment

How do athletes adjust to such intense pressure? Louganis explains how he leared to control his anxiety during a competition. "Most divers think too much..." he says " They're too much in their heads. What worked for me was humor. I remember thinking about what my mother would say if she saw me do a bad dive. She'd probably just compliment me on the beatiful splash"

What does the underlind refer to ?
    1. She used to compliment me ...(habitual action)
    2. She would have compliment me...(presumption)

    Re: She'd probably just compliment

At the time that he was diving, we was thinking: If my mother saw me do a bad dive, she would say, "Nice splash."

    Conditional
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
