    Exclamation Nationality

    I'm of mixed race.
So, can I say: "I'm half Japanese, half Korean" or "I am of Japanese and Korean descent"?
Which is correct and more natural?

    Re: Nationality

In BrE, your nationality refers to the passport you hold. If you hold only a Japanese passport, then for official purposes, you're Japanese. If you only hold a Korean passport, then for official purposes, you're Korean. If you hold both passports, you are a "dual national" (Japanese and Korean).

If you're referring to your race or ethnicity, then you're half-Japanese, half-Korean. However, you can use "of Japanese and Korean descent" to refer to your mixture of ancestors.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: Nationality

I know that in both Japan and Korea the two are considered very different, but in terms of race, strictly speaking, both nations belong to the same race. In fact, even in terms of national gene pools, the genetic overlap is tremendous.
