    Be or become

    Hi guys,

Please help. Is there a difference between "I want to be something" or "to become something"? Omne more example "Would you like to be my friend" or "to become my friend"?

    Re: Be or become

    "Become" suggests a process.
    Use "be" in your sentences.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
