    Re: Sister-in-law? Brother-in-law?

My sibling's husband is my brother-in-law.
My sibling's wife is my sister-in-law.

My spouse's sister is my sister-in-law. I also refer to her husband as my brother-in-law.
My spouse's brother is my brother-in-law. I also refer to his wife as my sister-in-law.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
