    Talking 136-to or for

    Hello all

is the following possible grammatically?i saw it in a book:

They are too conscientious and responsible to drive like maniacs.
because i was always thinking about the preposition FOR used for RESPONSIBLE.

    thanks all

    Matilda

    Re: 136-to or for

EX: They are too conscientious and responsible to drive like maniacs.

Matilda, in that context the preposition "to" doesn't pair with "responsible". It pairs with "drive", like this,

EX: They are too conscientious and responsible to drive like maniacs. <grammatical>

    Other like structures,

[1] It's too dirty to wear.
[2] Sam is too shy to talk.
[3] The soup is too cold to eat.
