    Cohesive devices

I have recently received the results of Cambridge English mock exam. Among other comments there was this:
Use cohesive devices and organisational patterns to link your sentences even more.

Could you help me and explain what exactly they meant? And I would be very grateful for some links to the materials I should revise/study to improve my performance in English.
If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

    Re: Cohesive devices

My guess is that the committee found your writing to have too many unconnected short sentences. Following is a link that gives some information about how to connect sentences to make the writing smoother.

    Re: Cohesive devices

Students often don't connect their sentences very well, so the texts jumps around; using words and phrases that connect things together into a more coherent hole makes it much easier to read. However, there is also the risk of overcompensating and trying to cram to many words like therefore/however/moreover. It is a balancing act.

Yes, it certainly can be overdone.
