When talking about income. Can you say: I can't believe she just broke six figures.

When talking about income. Can you say:

I can't believe she just broke six figures.

    VS

I can't believe she just cracked six figures.

    OR

We broke/cracked six figures last year.

    Are all okay?

How are you confused? The forum is for discussion after all. If you don't agree, tell us why. I stand to be corrected with my 'not a teacher' tag stated clearly
There is no need to be personal.

Batman, if you're going to say things like that, back them up. Explain exactly what it is in this thread which has confused you and give other examples of when tedmc's responses have confused you. You can't just make blanket statements like that without supporting information. Tedmc has the right to respond but he's going to need to know why you said it.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Batman, if the context is understood, then "broke" six figures should be understandable.

Yes, you have the right to post anything you want on this forum and I shouldn't have wrote want I wrote. I am sorry.

No one said we all have the right to post anything we want. It's not about that. Tedmc gave you his opinion on your question - he prefers the use of "surpassed" to "broke" and "cracked". There is nothing confusing about it.

Note my corrections above. Write - wrote - have written - had written
