    4X + 2Y = 142

    X + Y = 42

    y = 42 -X

    4X + 2(42- X) =142

    4X + 84 - 2X = 142
    2X = 58; X = 29

    29 monkeys

    116 + 2Y = 142

    2Y = 26

    As I posted in your thread about the flying birds, you must put a space after every full stop.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
