A multiple choice test about "in case"

This morning I got a question from a student of mine. Though I gave the correct choice as "C". I failed to make a proper explanation to "WHY NOT A?" Here is the question for your considerations

.................. in case they lose their way.

A)The campers will carry a map with them,
B)Some of the tourists are planning to hire a guide,
    C) Travellers planning to trek in the mountains are advised to take a local guide with them

    Thanks for your time.

    All three work for me.

I'd say it's the punctuation, though it seems harsh to me, but I wouldn't use the comma in A) or B).

Re: A multiple choice test about "in case"

I wouldn't either. But a case could be made for the commas if the ending was an afterthought. If the answer was based on the commas, it is not a very good question.

So there are 3 correct answers for this question?

    I like A best.

If they take a guide with them there's no chance of them losing their way.

I find it hard to say that something is wrong because of punctuation in most cases, but the only answer that works for me in terms of punctuation is C). I wouldn't write this as a question, but I would choose C) as the correct answer. However, I would not regard the others as that wrong for the reasons that MikeNewYork gave. To be honest, I don't think it's a very good question because the only thing that separates them is the punctuation and there is a case to be made for the afterthought idea.
