I reduce it to two cups/I cut down on two cups.

    Hi,

    Please correct the following.
In winter I take too many cups of tea, but in summer I reduce it to two cups.
In winter I take too many cups of tea, but in summer I cut down on two cups.

    The first one is OK.

Re: I reduce it to two cups/I cut down on two cups.

In BrE, to "take" cups of tea is unnatural. The phrase "to take tea" exists but it is very old-fashioned and usually means "to indulge in afternoon tea" (that's tea, sandwiches and cake).

We would use "I winter I drink too many cups of tea every day. In summer, I only drink two cups a day".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Note that reducing to two cups is different from reducing by two cups.
