    British public schools

    ,,.British public schools...

    In Britain, "public school" means private school, then how do you say real "public schools" run by the government?

    They are "state schools". However, please be aware that a lot of people in the UK don't understand this terminology and you will hear a lot of them referring to fee-paying schools as private schools.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Many public schools in the UK use the term independent schools.
