    the sense of "dropô

    Hello,

    Quoted:
/Taylor Swift drops a new song in a Diet Coke commercial starring adorable kittens./

The word "drop" has a lot senses as a verb in the dictionary, but I can not identify which sense is more applicable to this setence.
I think it should mean to release a song here, but I can find it among the senses of "drop" in the dictionary.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thank you so much!

Yes, it means to release a new work. This usage is rather new has not been captured in the dictionary yet.
