I'd like know the difference between "varied", "various" and "diverse"

Hello, I'm an English learner and I found this website searching the difference between influence and affect.

And then, there became another question. I've never thought about each word's usage before, but today it suddenly came up in my head.

What's the difference among them ? When should I use "varied", "various" and "diverse"?

I think diverse can be used when I express something like group or ranges which is made up of variety things. such as... There was diverse criteria.

Then, can I use "various" in this sentence, too? "There was various criteria."How about "varied"? If it should not, why does that?

I am so confused about these concepts.

'Criteria' is the plural of 'criterion', so you should say, 'There were diverse criteria'.
