where subdivision for fire integrity is required

    Hello everybody!

The same MCT type cable passages are used for decks and bulkheads that need to be airtight (e.g.separating air conditioned spaces, ), or where subdivision for fire integrity is required.

The whole sentence deals with electrical cables.
In my opinion, the bolded fragment means "where subdivision regarding/concerning/in terms of fire integrity is required.

Do you agree with my reasoning? I may be wrong.

    Thank you.

Where the cable passages need to be separated in order to prevent the spread of fire.

'Fire safety' is a better term than 'fire integrity'.
Fire safety is about the practices intended to reduce the destruction caused by fire.
Subdivision is compartmentation in fire-fighting terms.
